A man who was frustrated with life ended up committing suicide after attending a church programme. Apparently tired of life, a 42-year-old man identified as Ayo Boye, has committed suicide by hanging on a tree behind a block industry firm in the Adofure area of Akure, Ondo State capital. The owner of the block firm, identified simply as Olanrewaju, explained that his workers called him on the telephone on Wednesday, February 3, to inform him about the incident, and on getting to his office, he also saw the lifeless body dangling from the tree and reported immediately to the police. It was gathered that the deceased had come to Akure from Abuja to attend a church programme at a popular prayer center in the area where he took his life. The State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Femi Joseph, confirmed the incident, saying the wife and relatives of the deceased had been contacted.“We found a Nokia handset and a sum of N2,500 on him; we also found a Bible on him, but we are not certain that he came to worship at the prayer center,” the police spokesman said.
