Apparently, she was scared and then Ava screamed at her and she brought out N150, 000 in N500 denomination and handed it over to me.“But before I knew what was happening Ava opened fire on the woman and shot her in her private part. I was stunned when I saw that. He also shot the woman’s husband before we went to the next apartment where we were given just N4,000. When we left the estate, I was filled with guilt for taking part in such carnage.“The operation was coordinated by Nautica. On the night of the operation, we stormed the estate in a taxi. After taking the security men hostage, we started breaking into people’s houses and the first thing we looked out for were keys of exotic cars parked within the estate.“Four of the guys Nautica brought drove the vehicles out of the estate to our waiting buyers in Masaka. Once the cars arrived, trackers on the vehicles were removed and the vehicles would be taken to Jos and other parts of the country. We robbed that estate for three consecutive times using the same pattern and on each operation we normally left with four of their cars, but in our last operation, while we were escaping through the bushes, in Lugbe, we saw about six Fulani herdsmen sleeping.“As we approached them, Avan ordered that we should kill them all because they were the ones killing our people in their farms in Benue State. I was carrying one of the locally made rifles and we rained bullets on them in their sleep, killing all of them. I had no regret killing those people, because they are also very ruthless. “I sold the rifles to the community leader for N600,000 and I also bought 50 live ammunition from one Rabo who was supplying arms and ammunition to people in Jos. I didn’t know how the police knew where I was, they stormed my house and apprehended me.”

Bayelsa Permanent Secretary Arrested Over Attempt To Sell Baby

A serving Permanent Secretary in Bayelsa, Dr Wisdom Sawyer, has been arrested by the Police over alleged attempt to sell a newborn baby. The permanent secretary, who is also a medical practitioner and owner of Survival Hospital at Igbogene community in Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa, was arrested on Thursday. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the arrest was sequel to a complaint from the mother of the newborn baby. It was gathered that Ms Nnenna Lawrence, the 24-year old mother of the newborn baby, had gone to the hospital at eight months into her pregnancy and requested for an abortion. The doctor reportedly declined to perform the abortion due to the high risk; but was alleged to have offered to buy the baby if delivered with an offer of N200,000 for a female, and N250,000 for a male. NAN sources at the Bayelsa Police Command familiar with the case, said that the doctor gave the expectant mother N27,000 as a commitment. When the expectant mother delivered a baby boy, she reportedly changed her mind and reneged to sell the baby as agreed. She reportedly filed a complaint at the Igbogene Division of the Police after the hospital refuses to release the newborn baby to her. Mr Asinim Butswat, spokesman of the Bayelsa Police Command, confirmed the development and said that investigation is ongoing. “On Thursday, at about 1000hrs, one Nnenna Florence ‘f’ of Igbogene community reported to the Police, that she delivered a baby on Feb. 3, 2016, at Survival Hospital, Igbogene, Yenagoa. “She stated that prior to the delivery, she had arranged with the doctor and the nurse of the hospital to sell the baby to one woman now at large, at the sum N200,000. “But upon delivery of the baby, she changed her mind and refused to sell the baby as agreed,” Butswat said The police spokesman said that the doctor and the nurse were undergoing interrogation at Igbogene Police Station.(NAN)​ The post Bayelsa Permanent Secretary Arrested Over Attempt To Sell Baby appeared first on Gist & Entertainment News-Latest Update in Nigeria | timeofgist.com.

Frustration: Man commits suicide in Ondo after attending deliverance service

A man who was frustrated with life ended up committing suicide after attending a church programme. Apparently tired of life, a 42-year-old man identified as Ayo Boye, has committed suicide by hanging on a tree behind a block industry firm in the Adofure area of Akure, Ondo State capital.The owner of the block firm, identified simply as Olanrewaju, explained that his workers called him on the telephone on Wednesday, February 3, to inform him about the incident, and on getting to his office, he also saw the lifeless body dangling from the tree and reported immediately to the police.It was gathered that the deceased had come to Akure from Abuja to attend a church programme at a popular prayer center in the area where he took his life.The State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Femi Joseph, confirmed the incident, saying the wife and relatives of the deceased had been contacted.“We found a Nokia handset and a sum of N2,500 on him; we also found a Bible on him, but we are not certain that he came to worship at the prayer center,” the police spokesman said.
