With support from the Hewlett Foundation, J-PAL is offering scholarships for learners from sub-Saharan Africa to participate in the online MicroMasters in Data, Economics, and Development Policy (DEDP) classes free of charge in the fall 2018 semester. Scholarships are open to new and existing MicroMasters learners born in sub-Saharan Africa.

Learners selected for a scholarship will receive a coupon to complete a MicroMasters in DEDP course of their choice for free and receive all the perks of being a paid learner, including participation in a proctored exam to earn the course completion certificate, access to community and job forums, and direct communication with program and teaching staff.

Of note: During this round of the program, scholarship recipients who complete the online course in this fall 2018 semester will be awarded a second scholarship to take another MicroMasters course in the spring 2019 semester.
