The Information Technology Security and Compliance team is seeking a highly motivated individual to support the IT Security and Risk programs for Air Canada and its affiliates, and to implement ongoing compliance monitoring with the reference to the IT Security policies, standards and procedures, while taking into consideration the organization culture and the airline industry specific business context.

This position is responsible for the protection of personal, commercial and financial data as well as the secure operation of our networks and infrastructures. The individual will be required to manage and provide input for IT Security initiatives and stay current to both enable new technologies while protecting our data and provide excellence in delivery.
This position also manages relationships with key business units and our affiliates.

  • Implementing and manage governance around Security Management both internally and externally in our multiple vendor environments;
  • Perform process and control reviews to ensure that they align to Air Canada’s information security requirements;
  • Act as an interface with audit departments to perform periodic compliance audits, while providing guidance to other managers and staff regarding control procedures and testing;
  • Assist in identifying compliance risks and in implementing plans to monitor and address those findings with relevant and feasible remediation plans;
  • Work with security and architecture teams to establish and review policies and IT direction;
  • Plans, coordinates and oversees activities related to the design, development and integration of information systems, operations systems and reporting systems in a security or risk context;
  • Supporting the business initiatives, while making sure any IT security risk introduced is properly managed
  • Identification of information technology risks, communication and development of “best practice” solutions, and implementation of mitigating controls consistent with company strategy;
  • Introduce new processes and technologies and ensure that security gaps in the aforementioned items are identified and addressed ahead of time;
  • Is responsible to ensure that the company’s internal technological processes and services comply with community expectations, laws, and regulations for privacy, security, and social responsibility.
  • Represent the organization and take an active participation on different IT security, include airline specific, forums.
  • Supporting the Director IT security and compliance on any strategic initiative that might be assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required. Master’s degree preferred. A degree in Computer Science, Information Security/Data Systems Management or a related field or discipline is ideal 8 years of pertinent experience.
  • In depth knowledge of Information Security frameworks and compliance programs including but not limited to NIST, PCI DSS, ISO/IEC 27001, SSAE18/ISAE3402.
  • Knowledge in asset classification and risk management frameworks.
  • Leadership with ability to work with management.
  • Strong communication skills, (written and verbal), and the ability to bridge the language between technology and business.
  • Must be a team player with capacity to work with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Industry certifications, such as CISSP, CISM or CRISC required.
