When it comes to financial support, startups in the Nigerian city of Lagos are some of the best funded enterprises in the continent. Located in Africa’s most populous country, Lagos has started to deliver its own solutions for the citizens of Nigeria and has thus transformed into a real tech hub. By taking one of its pitch events to Lagos, Merck aims to foster valuable connections between Nigeria and Germany, and support local tech startups.
Working alongside our partner Seedspace we will be targeting startups in West Africa where we will run a challenge that culminates in a pitch event in September. We will also be hosting a quarterly eHealth Meetup.

What do you get?
The selected start-ups will be invited for a Pitch Day in Lagos. The best start-up will have the opportunity to collaborate with Merck globally in our Headquarters.

About the Pitch Event
At our Pitch Event, startups and founders get the chance to showcase their innovative ideas to a judging panel from Merck. The winner will be invited to join the Merck Innovation Center in Darmstadt, Germany to pitch for a collaboration project.
