Friends of Design Distinguished Talent Scholarship in South Africa, 2019

Applications are now open for Friends of Design Distinguished Talent Scholarship for students who are interested in Graphic Design, Web Design, Game Design or Concept Art. They are private bursaries that cover 100% of tuition fees for the chosen candidates. There are four Distinguished Talent Scholarships available for 2019.

Welcome to Friends of Design – Academy of Digital Arts, one of Cape Town’s leading institutions in design education, preparing students for their creative careers. Founded in 2006 by a team of very passionate people, the academy officially opened its doors in 2007. Since that first day, we’ve been committed to exceptional education standards, and enjoy national and international industry accreditation. In fact, as well as being a recognised centre of Higher Education registered with the Department of Higher Education.

Scholarship Description

  • Applications Deadline: November 30, 2018
  • Course Level: Scholarships are awarded to students who are interested in Graphic Design, Web Design, Game Design or Concept Art. This is a 1 year certificate programme.
  • Study Subject: There are four Distinguished Talent Scholarships available for 2019. Each corresponds to one of our core, full-time courses. These are:
  1. Graphic Design & Visual Communication
  2. Web Design & Motion Graphics
  3. Game Graphics & Multimedia Entertainment
  4. Concept Art
  • Scholarship Award: Friends of Design’s Distinguished Talent Scholarships are private bursaries that cover 100% of tuition fees for the chosen candidates.
  • Nationality: South African students are eligible to apply for this scholarship.
  • Number of Scholarships: Numbers not given
  • Scholarship can be taken in South Africa

Entrance Requirements: Applicants must meet the following criteria:

Distinguished Talent Scholarships aren’t awarded to just anyone. To be eligible, you need to be able to prove that your creative spark has next-level potential and that you have the passion, dedication and commitment to see that potential through.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • A South African ID/passport
  • A matric certificate (or international equivalent)
  • Mad creative skills and a mind-blowing portfolio

Submission Requirements

  • Please submit a certified copy of your ID
  • Foreign applicants, please submit a copy of your passport
  • You must submit a certified Matric certificate (Senior/Grade 12 Certificate) or NQF 4 equivalent. If you are currently completing school grade 12, please submit your latest statement of results/report
  • Please also include any other academic qualifications as well
  • Foreign student applicants please submit a certified final school/college certificate
